Daniel Dubois has warned that future heavyweight rivalries like his potential clash with Moses Itauma must not be delayed.

The Lesson of the Past: Don't Wait Too Long

For nearly a decade, the potential collision course between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua defined a generation of British boxing before finally landing on a late-career timeline. For reigning WBO heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, that prolonged delay serves as a stark warning for the sport's future.

Reflecting on the shifting landscape of the heavyweight division, Dubois believes that if he and surging contender Moses Itauma are destined to collide, the fight needs to materialize much sooner rather than later.

"I want to fight him sooner," Dubois told Live Sports 365. "Moses, anyone that can give me a challenge. All the toughest fighters out there I want to face. Let's see. I'll break them down now. I feel like I'm at that stage now. I know how I'll have to break them all down, whoever I get in the ring with next, I'll smash them up."

Rebuilding the Next Generation Rivalry

At just 29 years old, Dubois has already cemented his status as a two-time world champion. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Moses Itauma has emerged as one of the division's most dangerous young talents, despite recent adversity.

Discussing Itauma's resilience following his hard-fought bout against Filip Hrgovic, Dubois expressed confidence in the youngster's ability to bounce back and return to world title contention.

"Of course he can. He had the whole industry behind him. They won't let him give up I don't think," Dubois noted. "It was a great fight between him and Hrgovic, so there's no shame in that really. Hrgovic just showed him that there's always someone out there that's stronger willed than you. More determination and he's got kids to feed."

When asked about a future showdown against the slick southpaw, Dubois kept his cards close to his chest while acknowledging the inevitable intrigue. "Let's see what happens. I'm the one experienced in these situations now. So let's see."

Unloading the Full Wrecking Force

Dubois enters the prime of his career carrying immense momentum, underlined by a devastating two-round demolition of Fabio Wardley to defend his WBO crown. With knockout power that has terrorized the division, the champion boldly claims he is operating as the hardest puncher in world boxing.

"I am. I've shown myself over the years as well," Dubois said, adding a chilling warning for the rest of the heavyweight roster. "I don't think I've even touched the surface yet really. I'm just starting to unload properly now. It's going to be a good few next fights."

That unwavering confidence has been forged through the fires of early career setbacks, including a stoppage defeat to Joe Joyce and dual world title challenges against Oleksandr Usyk. Rather than stalling his trajectory, Dubois credits those grueling nights with transforming him into arguably the most formidable force in the sport today.

"Who's had a career like mine? Coming back from losses and then banging out good fighters," Dubois reflected. "Broken me down and rebuilt me again a few times. It's interesting. Of course, from the first fight with Joe Joyce, a few, Usyk and all those events I feel like they make you stronger."

As he looks toward his next defense, the champion insists his resurgence is driven by a simple, uncompromising ethos: pure determination.
